"Hello,

My name is Kathryn Payne, and I am a licensed mental health counselor specializing in

Christian counseling, and owner of Make a Way Christian Counseling Services, LLC. I graduated from Liberty University with a master’s degree in professional counseling and have worked in community centers and provided therapy for a variety of populations.  I have treated clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, parenting problems, chronic illness, and more.

Although my approach is faith-based, I also have worked with many clients who do not express a desire to utilize faith during therapy. My approach to therapy includes developing a trust-based, and respectful therapeutic relationship with my clients, utilizing appropriate modalities to address specific needs in order to achieve their clinical goals.”

Treating

Anxiety, Depression, Spirituality, Anger Management, Chronic Illness, Coping Skills,

Divorce, Grief, Life Transitions, Parenting, Self Esteem, Trauma and PTSD, and more.

“For mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, I will likely utilize interventions

related to cognitive behavioral therapy in sessions, as well as faith-based interventions for those clients who express a desire to do so. This type of therapy identifies faulty thinking patterns and replaces them with more helpful and/or accurate ways of thinking.”
